The Governors are seeking to appoint a talented, dynamic and inspirational full-time Academic Leader for Modern Foreign Language.

Applications are welcome from qualified teachers who are outstanding practitioners. It is not essential that the candidate has previous experience as an Academic Leader/Department Head but they must be able to demonstrate recent successful leadership skills.

The Governors of the school are committed to expanding the number of pupils studying a foreign language, 40% of the cohort currently take Spanish at GCSE. The successful candidate will be expected to provide strategic direction to help the department move forward keeping true to our core values and mission. The role will involve line-management of the departments 3 members of teaching staff and will have overall accountability to ensure the pupils in MFL make outstanding progress.

St Bede’s is a successful and over-subscribed mixed, 11-16 school with a long history of academic success. We have an excellent reputation in the community for achievement and pupil behaviour.
