With the festive period nearly upon us, can I thank all our families for their continued support of school. As you will read, it has been an extremely busy half-term with a huge number of successes and a vast array of trips, events and fixtures across all year groups.

Father Brian continues to be a weekly presence around school and his support is invaluable to our school community. As well as his lunchtime visits, over the last week he has hosted our Year 11 pupils visiting St Joseph’s as part of their RE GCSE syllabus and shared Advent celebrations with all year groups in the last week of term.

The Celebration Evening held on Thursday November 20th for our Year 11 pupils who left St Bede’s in June was extremely successful. It was a pleasure to see so many happy and smiling faces. We wish all our departing pupils the very best for the future.

Last week our current Year 11 pupils received their mock examination results. Can I thank both the pupils, their teachers and all the staff for their hard work and dedication over a busy period.

If any parent, carer or member of the local parish would be interested in becoming a Foundation Governor of St Bede’s, please refer to the link below. Should this be of interest and you would like further details please contact Mrs Dudgeon via the school telephone number.

I would be grateful if families could check our uniform requirements on the school website, especially in regards to outside coats.

Finally, on behalf of the Governing Body, the staff and myself can I thank families for all their kind and generous charitable donations over this term and to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
