FOUNDATION GOVERNOR VACANCY

Required for 2024

The Governors are seeking to appoint a Foundation Governor.

Foundation Governors play an important part in maintaining and developing the Catholic character of schools.

Governors do not need any formal qualifications – having appropriate relevant skills and experience, an interest in education, a commitment to prepare for and attend meetings, conduct school visits and attend training are as important.

To be a Foundation Governor you must be over 18 and a practicing Catholic. As part of the self-nomination process, you will need to give the contact details of your parish priest who can verify this.

Governance – Roman Catholic Diocese of Salford

CLEANER 

Required as soon as possible

Permanent, 30 hours per week (15-20 hours may also be considered)

Part Time, term time, inclusive of inset time plus 2 weeks.  Grade B, Pro-rata for 30 hours the salary is £ 17,610

Monday – Friday 6.30am to 8.30 am

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday  2.30pm to 6.30pm

Tuesday  1.45pm to 6pm

Friday       2.30pm to 6.15pm    

The Governors are seeking to appoint a flexible and proactive cleaner who can work with minimal supervision to a high standard.

Working within a team of cleaners and site staff you will have responsibility of ensuring consistent standards of hygiene and cleanliness are achieved and maintained.  You will need to ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times and report any safety or maintenance issues you may become aware of whilst working. You will be expected to work across any areas of the school as required and adapt cleaning rotas to accommodate events and activities on the school premises along with any changes to staffing levels.

Previous experience of working in a school in a similar role would be advantageous but is not essential.  You must have good manual dexterity and be able to undertake the physically demanding aspects of the role which could include the moving of chairs and tables for thorough cleaning, or the operation of industrial cleaning equipment including buffers and scrubber dryers.  A basic level of Maths and English is essential along with good communication skills. You will be working with minimal supervision for many of your tasks.

In addition to the 38 weeks’ pupils are in school you will work an additional 5 inset days plus two weeks over the summer or at other holiday periods to assist in a deep clean of the school.   These are contracted hours of work.
