Year 9
Head of Year: Mr. Walsh

Assistant Head of Year: Mrs. Lingard
Year 9 is a pivotal year in your child’s secondary school journey. As students continue to mature both academically and personally, they begin to face new and important challenges—developing a stronger sense of identity, navigating peer relationships, and starting to make decisions that will shape their future, including the first steps towards selecting GCSE options.
At St Bede’s, we understand the importance of supporting students through this crucial stage. The Year 9 team is dedicated to caring for every aspect of your child’s development—not only their academic progress, but also their emotional well-being, social confidence, and personal growth. We take a holistic approach to pastoral care, recognising that in order for students to thrive academically, they must first feel safe, supported, and understood. Our experienced team works closely with each student, treating them as individuals with unique needs, strengths, and aspirations. We are committed to creating a nurturing environment where every young person feels valued and empowered to achieve their full potential.
Throughout the year, we will continue to guide, support, and challenge our students to uphold the values of the St Bede’s community, take pride in their achievements, and lay the foundations for success in the years ahead. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Year 9 team—we are here to support both you and your child every step of the way.
