Year 11 is a focal and demanding year in your child’s education—one that will shape their future pathways, whether into further education, apprenticeships, or the world of work. With final GCSE and BTEC examinations approaching, this is a time for focus, resilience, and ambition.

At St Bede’s, we understand the pressure and significance of this year, and we are fully committed to supporting your child every step of the way. The Year 11 Pastoral Team plays a vital role in ensuring each student is not only achieving academic success, but also maintaining their emotional well-being and personal development throughout this challenging time.

We closely monitor each student’s attendance, attainment, and attitude to learning, using this information to provide timely interventions, encouragement, and support. We recognise that every student’s journey is different, and we are committed to treating each individual with care, respect, and high expectations.

Partnership with parents and carers is key to ensuring success in Year 11. We strongly encourage regular and open communication between home and school. One of the most effective ways to maintain this link is through the use of Class Charts which helps you stay informed and engaged in your child’s attitude to learning, personal study and achievement.
