As you will read, it has been a busy start to the new academic year. Our new Year 7 pupils have settled into life at St Bede’s extremely well and I would like to thank Father Brian, Mrs Donlon, Mrs Pollard and everyone involved in both organising and attending our New Families Mass. I think I speak for everyone who attended in saying that the musical performance by our Year 7 pupils at the end of Mass was absolutely fantastic. This is an important starting point in their journey of Faith as they progress through our school.
Our Open Evening was once again extremely will attended. Our pupils were central to the success of the evening and the feedback form prospective families on their pride and knowledge of their school was a constant throughout the night. Can I thank everyone involved.
Our ‘Be recognised’ Awards Evening took place on Tuesday 7th October. It was another opportunity to celebrate the talents and successes of our pupils. It was a highly competitive process and all our winners should be enormously proud of their achievements. Congratulations to all who received a well-deserved prize.
If any parent, carer or member of the local parish would be interested in becoming a Foundation Governor of St Bede’s, please refer to the link below. Should this be of interest and you would like further details please contact Mrs Dudgeon via the school telephone number.

Over the course of the half term there have been numerous visits and events both in and outside of school. The feedback from organisers and member of the public has been nothing but positive, something I know will continue throughout the rest of the academic year.
Congratulations to everyone who competed in the Blackburn with Darwen Cross Country meeting that took place last week. As in previous years, there were a number of individual and team successes.
I hope you enjoy reading our latest newsletter and that everyone has a relaxing half-term holiday.
